Motley Fool
fool.com
Long-running investing publisher with a large free library of articles and podcasts, and paid stock-picking services led by Stock Advisor at $199 a year.
What it is
The Motley Fool publishes investing news, analysis, educational guides and podcasts, most of it free on fool.com. Its business, though, is paid research: subscription services that recommend individual stocks for long-term, buy-and-hold investors, with rankings, scores and model portfolios around those picks.
Stock Advisor is the entry service at $199 a year: two new stock recommendations a month, a monthly ranked top-10 list, starter portfolio strategies, stock reports and limited use of the company's data and scoring tools. Epic at $499 a year raises that to seven picks a month and adds its Epic Portfolio, a match calculator and full access to the data tools. Epic Plus at $1,999 a year adds daily AI-scored ideas, model portfolios and options strategies, and the top tiers (Fool Portfolios and Fool One) run into thousands of dollars a year.
The services are built around holding stocks for years, not trading them. Stock Advisor has a 30-day money-back period and renews automatically at the then-current list price, so check the renewal price before the first year ends. The performance figures shown on the site are the company's own calculations on its past picks.
