Finbox

finbox.com

Fundamental research toolbox with pre-built valuation models, a global stock screener and a spreadsheet add-in, priced by region, exports sold extra.

What it is

Finbox is built for investors who value companies themselves rather than read someone else's conclusion. Each stock has pre-built valuation models, such as unlevered discounted cash flow and dividend discount models, whose outputs are averaged into a Finbox fair value estimate. The models can be edited and exported to Excel or Google Sheets with their formulas intact, so you can check how free cash flow, discount rates and enterprise value were worked out. DCF models are switched off for banks and other financial companies, where they do not fit.

Alongside the models are a stock screener that can filter on those fair value estimates and a large library of financial metrics, watchlists and idea lists. An Excel and Google Sheets add-in pulls quotes, historical financials, ratios and fair values into your own spreadsheets through a single =FNBX() formula. Finbox has described its screener as covering more than 100,000 stocks on 135+ exchanges.

Plans are built by region. Finbox's help center says the Starter plan costs $120 a year and covers every tool for stocks on US exchanges; other regions and a Data Boost (needed for exporting from the screener, watchlists and models) are added on. The Professional plan includes all regions and exports. Both can be paid monthly or yearly, and new accounts start with a fully functional trial. The main site renders its pricing in the browser, so we could not read the full price list.

Free option: New accounts start with a fully functional trial. We could not confirm what, if anything, stays free after it ends.
