Wealthfolio
wealthfolio.app
Free, open-source investment and net worth tracker that keeps data on your device, with an optional low-cost Connect plan for encrypted sync and imports.
What it is
Wealthfolio is a portfolio tracker built around privacy. The app runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, on iPhone and iPad, and can be self-hosted with Docker for access in a browser. Data is stored locally on your device by default rather than on a company server. It tracks holdings, performance and allocation, net worth across assets and liabilities, dividend and interest income, spending, contribution limits for IRAs, 401(k)s and TFSAs, and retirement or FIRE plans with Monte Carlo simulations. An add-on system extends it further.
The app itself is free and its code is on GitHub. Without a subscription you enter transactions by hand or import CSV files. Wealthfolio Connect is the optional paid layer: Basic ($2.99 a month or $29 a year) adds end-to-end encrypted sync across up to six devices; Essentials ($7.99 a month or $79 a year) adds up to five brokerage connections with automatic updates; Duo ($12.99 a month or $129 a year) covers two people with up to 12 connections and a shared household view. A Plus tier with portfolio briefs and market data is listed as coming soon.
Broker connections run through SnapTrade and cover 38 brokerages in the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and India, including Schwab, Fidelity, Robinhood and Interactive Brokers. Banks and brokers outside that list still need CSV imports.
