What it is

StocksToTrade is a desktop and web trading platform built for active stock traders, with a strong lean towards small caps and momentum names. It bundles real-time scanners for day and swing setups, news and SEC filing scanners, charts with pattern recognition, Level 2 quotes, watchlists and broker integration for placing trades, along with prebuilt scans based on the strategies of trader Tim Sykes and its own Money Bar indicator.

It is sold as one platform at one price rather than in tiers: $179.95 a month or $1,899.50 a year, which the company says saves $250. New users can start with a 14-day trial for $7 that renews into the monthly plan unless cancelled. Training through StocksToTrade University is included.

Much of the extra cost around the platform comes from add-ons sold separately, such as the Breaking News Chat, alert services, IRIS Analytics and mentorship programmes. Their prices are on separate order pages, so check what you are signing up for at checkout. The desktop app runs on Windows and Mac and lists a quad-core 2 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM as the minimum.
