What it is
Snowball Analytics tracks stocks, ETFs and funds across more than 70 exchanges and 30 currencies, with a particular focus on dividend income. It records payouts automatically, shows a calendar of upcoming and received dividends, calculates yield and yield on cost, applies custom withholding tax and rates dividend stocks. Around that sit general portfolio analytics: performance including fees and dividends, IRR, diversification by sector and region, benchmarking, Sharpe ratio and beta, and backtests of portfolio ideas. It runs on the web and on iOS and Android.
The free plan is small but not time-limited: one portfolio of up to 10 holdings, the dividend calendar and imports of broker reports, with benchmarking limited to index funds and a rebalancing tool that only suggests purchases. Starter removes the holdings cap and adds automatic brokerage linking (the company says more than 1,000 brokers in the US, Europe, the UK and Asia), the full rebalancing tool and dividend ratings. Investor adds 10 portfolios, benchmarking against any asset, 10 years of fundamentals and 30+ years of backtest data. Expert removes the remaining limits.
Every paid plan has a 14-day trial with no card required; afterwards the account falls back to the free plan without deleting data. Snowball Analytics is a French company, but it supports US brokers and prices its plans in US dollars.
