Portfolio Visualizer
portfoliovisualizer.com
Portfolio backtesting, Monte Carlo simulation, optimization and factor regression, free without login for up to 15 assets; paid plans save and export.
What it is
Portfolio Visualizer is a set of analysis tools for testing asset allocations, not an account tracker. You enter tickers or asset classes and weights and it backtests the portfolio over historical data, runs Monte Carlo simulations and financial goal projections, builds efficient frontiers and optimized portfolios (including Black-Litterman and rolling optimization), runs factor regressions and performance attribution, compares asset correlations and fund performance, and tests tactical allocation models. It covers about 187,000 securities in 30 global markets.
The free plan needs no login and runs every core tool, but backtests are limited to 15 assets with limited history and no current month-to-date results, and nothing can be saved or exported. Basic ($30 a month, billed annually) allows up to 150 assets with year-to-date results, forward trade signals for tactical models, saving portfolios and models, Excel, CSV and PDF export and configurable asset backfills. Pro ($55 a month, billed annually) is licensed for commercial use and adds customized PDF reports, custom data series, management fees, saved capital market and tax assumptions, team account sync and more saved models.
Both paid plans offer a trial. The tools are built for allocation research, not for timing individual trades.
