HedgeFollow
hedgefollow.com
Free-to-browse tracker of hedge fund 13F, 13D, 13G and Form 4 filings, insider and congressional trades, with paid levels for deeper filters and exports.
What it is
HedgeFollow pulls SEC filings into searchable tables: quarterly 13F holdings for funds managing over $100 million, 13D and 13G stakes above 5%, and Form 4 insider trades. It tracks more than 10,000 institutions and over 100,000 insiders, rates funds on performance, and estimates each fund's average buy price and profit or loss on a position. Separate trackers cover congressional stock trades and ETF flows for bitcoin, gold, silver and oil funds.
Much of the site can be browsed free with ads. Paid Level 1 and Level 2 plans unlock the filters marked premium (larger trade values, longer date ranges, bigger tables). The provider describes Level 1 as priced at about a dollar a day and aimed at beginners, and Level 2 as adding all fund and insider aggregations, the portfolio builder and data export. Plans are billed quarterly or annually and, according to the plans page, cannot be changed after subscribing, so check what each level unlocks before paying.
Keep the source data in mind. 13F filings arrive up to 45 days after the quarter ends and show only long US positions, so they describe what a fund held weeks ago, not what it holds today. Insider and congressional filings are faster, and the insider tracker refreshes every five minutes.

Pricing
We could not confirm current prices on HedgeFollow's own site, so none are shown here.
Level 1 and Level 2 plans, billed quarterly or annually, are listed on the plans page but their prices load only in the checkout script and could not be read; the page says Level 1 costs about a dollar a day. A separate newsletter is offered at $10/month or $99/year. Plans cannot be changed once bought.
Free option: Most trackers, fund pages and the screener can be browsed free with ads; premium filters, longer tables, aggregations and exports need a paid level.

Strengths
- Covers more than 10,000 institutions and 100,000 insiders, not only well-known funds
- Estimated average buy prices show whether a fund is in profit on a position
- Hedge fund, insider and congressional filings in one site
- A large amount is usable without paying
Limitations
- 13F data is filed up to 45 days after quarter end and shows only long US holdings
- Paid plan prices are not shown until checkout
- The plans page states that plans cannot be changed after purchase
- The free version shows ads and locks larger trade-value and date filters
- Screener market data is updated daily and, as the site notes, may be significantly delayed
Good fit for
- Investors who follow what hedge funds and insiders are buying
- Traders researching congressional stock trades
- Long-term stock pickers looking for consensus institutional buying
Look elsewhere if
- Short-term traders who need real-time order flow (an options flow or dark pool tool fits better)
- Anyone wanting full fund positions including shorts, which 13F filings do not disclose
