Ghostfolio
ghostfol.io
Open-source portfolio tracker for stocks, ETFs and crypto, free to self-host with Docker or used as a hosted service, with Premium at $48 a year.
What it is
Ghostfolio is an open-source wealth tracker built for buy-and-hold investors who hold stocks, ETFs and crypto across several brokers. You record or import transactions, and it calculates performance (return on average investment for today, week, month, year to date, one year, five years and max), shows allocations, compares against benchmarks and runs a static risk check of the portfolio, which it calls X-ray. It runs in the browser as a progressive web app designed for phones, with no separate native app.
There are three ways to use it. The open-source edition (AGPL-3.0) is free and includes everything, but you host it yourself with the official Docker images, a PostgreSQL database and Redis, and update it manually. The hosted Basic plan is free with unlimited accounts and transactions, performance and import/export, but no summary, allocation, benchmark or FIRE views. Premium adds those views, a professional market data provider and email and chat support for USD 48 a year, charged once with no auto-renewal.
The project is active: at this review the latest release was 3.72.0 (September 2026), with weekly releases and over 9,000 GitHub stars. It does not connect to brokers automatically; transactions are entered by hand or imported from files.
