Fintel
fintel.io
Filings-based research adding short interest, borrow fees, a 0 to 100 squeeze score, institutional ownership, insider trades and options flow per ticker.
What it is
Fintel gathers data that retail traders usually have to piece together from several places: institutional ownership from 13F and fund filings, insider buying and selling, short interest and short borrow fee rates, analyst forecasts, SEC filings and options activity. Each ticker gets pages for ownership, short interest and forecasts, and the site covers exchanges outside the US as well as US stocks.
Its signature output is the Short Squeeze Score, a multi-factor model that combines short interest, float, borrow fee rates and other inputs into a number from 0 to 100, where 50 is average and higher means a greater relative risk of a squeeze. There are matching leaderboards for short squeeze and gamma squeeze candidates, plus stock screens. The options section covers unusual activity, directional premium, 0DTE flow, sweeps and blocks.
A free account lets you save research and personalize a dashboard, but much of the detailed data, the leaderboards and the advanced tools sit behind paid tiers, and the site shows ads to free users. Fintel's pricing page could not be read for this review, so check the current tiers and billing periods on the site before subscribing; third-party reviews describe quarterly and annual billing.

Pricing
We could not confirm current prices on Fintel's own site, so none are shown here.
Fintel's pricing page blocked automated access, so plan prices could not be confirmed on the provider's site. Paid tiers remove ads and unlock premium datasets, leaderboards and AI research tools; third-party reviews describe quarterly and annual billing.
Free option: A free account can view basic ticker pages, save research and personalize a dashboard, with ads. Most detailed datasets, leaderboards and advanced tools need a paid tier.

Strengths
- Short interest, borrow fees, ownership and insider data on one ticker page
- A published, multi-factor short squeeze score with a stated scale
- Covers international exchanges as well as US stocks
- Adds options flow to the filing data, so one subscription covers both
Limitations
- Most of the useful data and the leaderboards require a paid tier
- Prices are not visible without reaching the plans page, and billing is not simply monthly
- Filing-based data such as 13F holdings and exchange short interest is reported with a lag, so it describes past positioning
- A squeeze score ranks relative risk; it does not predict that a squeeze will happen
Good fit for
- Traders screening for heavily shorted stocks with high borrow costs
- Investors tracking institutional and insider ownership changes
- Traders who want filing data and options flow in one research site
Look elsewhere if
- Day traders who need a real-time flow terminal as their main tool
- Investors who only need free 13F or insider data (the SEC's own filings are free)
