What it is
Barchart is one of the older market data websites, and its breadth is the main reason to use it: quotes, charts, screeners, technical opinions, earnings and financials for stocks and ETFs, plus unusually deep coverage of futures (grains, energies, livestock, rates, European contracts) and futures options. For options it has chains with Greeks, expected move, put/call ratios, volatility charts, gamma exposure, max pain and skew.
There are three memberships. Free never expires but caps you at one watchlist, one portfolio, one saved screener, 20 uninterrupted page views and truncated screener results. Plus removes ads, shows full screener results, raises most limits to ten and adds Commitments of Traders reports and point-and-figure and Kagi charts. Premier is the tier for options traders: unusual options activity with full data, options flow, options time and sales, advanced options screeners, volatility tools, options price history, real-time SMS alerts and historical data downloads back to 2000.
Know the data delay before relying on it. Barchart's help pages say website stock quotes are delayed 15 minutes except symbols on Cboe BZX, and futures and forex 10 to 15 minutes. Paid memberships add tools and limits; they are not a real-time data feed.

Plus and Premier start with a 30-day free trial and can be cancelled at any time. Real-time exchange data is not part of the memberships; Barchart's commercial data API (OnDemand) is a separate product.
Free option: A permanent free account with streaming charts, quotes, news, basic options pages, one watchlist, one portfolio, one saved screener and 50 basic price alerts. Screener results are truncated and page views are limited to 20 before interruptions.
