Wall Street Survivor

wallstreetsurvivor.com

A free stock market simulator with $100,000 in virtual cash and free investing courses, plus contests and private leagues for practising with friends.

What it is

Wall Street Survivor pairs a paper trading simulator with free beginner courses. A free account comes with $100,000 in virtual money to trade stocks, ETFs, options and crypto using market quotes delayed by at least 15 minutes, on desktop or mobile, with no subscription or credit card. You can trade on your own, enter monthly contests, join national competitions or create private contests for friends, family, coworkers or a class.

The course library is free and arranged in four levels. Investing Basics covers how the market works, choosing a broker and picking stocks; Beyond the Basics covers dollar cost averaging, funds, bonds and value investing; Advanced Strategies covers reading financial statements, short selling, options for beginners, technical analysis and penny stocks; and a Personal Finance track covers debt, passive income and retirement planning. The lessons are written to be tried straight away in the simulator.

The site also publishes reviews of paid newsletters and research services, such as Motley Fool Stock Advisor, Seeking Alpha and Zacks, and promotes their offers on its pages. The simulator and courses themselves cost nothing. It is aimed at beginners; experienced traders will find the tools basic.
