StockTrak
stocktrak.com
Classroom paper trading simulator used by universities and schools, covering stocks, options, futures, bonds, forex and crypto on 50+ exchanges.
What it is
StockTrak is a virtual trading platform that has been sold mainly to schools: it says it is used at more than 1,000 universities and 20,000 high schools, plus corporate training programs. Professors set up a class, students buy an account for the term, and trades are made with virtual money against delayed market data from more than 50 exchanges worldwide. A library of over 500 short lessons on personal finance, economics and investing sits alongside the simulator.
The range of what you can practice is wider than most free simulators. Individual accounts cover stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, Treasuries and corporate bonds, options including multi-leg spreads such as iron condors, futures and futures options, 20+ forex pairs and the top 100 cryptocurrencies, with a starting balance you choose from $10,000 to $1 million. Quotes are delayed at least 15 minutes.
Students pay per account per term, from $19.95 for a seven-week summer course to $49.95 for 36 weeks; many finance textbooks include discount coupons, and schools can buy site licenses instead. Individuals who are not in a class can subscribe monthly, with a full refund available in the first 30 days, and students whose course has ended can keep a 12-month practice account for $19.99. StockTrak also runs the free WallStreetSurvivor simulator and Investing101 course for beginners.
