FRED Economic Release Calendar

fred.stlouisfed.org

The St. Louis Fed's free schedule of every data release in FRED, from CPI to regional series, with exact times in US Central Time and no commentary.

What it is

The FRED Economic Release Calendar is a public page from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis listing when each data release tracked in its FRED database is scheduled. Every entry shows the release name, time and frequency, and links to a release page with the underlying series and charts. A single day can hold dozens of entries, from Federal Funds data and SOFR averages to consumer surveys and daily Nasdaq index data.

You can view the schedule by week, month or year, move between years, sort by date or by name, and pick one release from an All Releases list, such as the Consumer Price Index or the ADP employment report. There is no account and no cost. The page is a reference, not a trading calendar: it has no consensus forecasts, prior values, importance ratings or market commentary, and it covers far more series than most traders follow.

Two details matter when using it for trade timing. All times are in US Central Time, an hour behind the Eastern times used by most market calendars. And FRED notes that release dates come from the original data sources, so they do not necessarily match when the numbers appear on FRED itself. Developers can pull the same schedule, including future dates, through the FRED API's releases/dates endpoint with an API key tied to a FRED account.
