OptionSlam

optionslam.com

Earnings-focused options research: calendar, past post-earnings versus implied moves, an earnings volatility rating and a backtester, about $20 a month.

What it is

OptionSlam is built around one question: how much does a stock usually move when it reports earnings, and how does that compare with what the options market is pricing in? Each stock page shows past earnings dates, the move after each report, and whether the actual move landed inside or outside the implied move for weekly and monthly expirations. Its Earnings Volatility Rating (EVR) scores how sensitive a stock is to earnings, and an Earnings Index averages the rating across the S&P 500.

Visitors and free members can see basic stock statistics and previews of the calendar, screener and backtesting pages, with history limited to two quarters. The paid Insider membership opens the full earnings calendar with filters, the stock screener, implied move reports, the historical backtesting screener, the OSBTT options strategy tester, watchlists with email alerts, and full historical data.

The site is narrow on purpose. It does not offer a general options chain, flow feed or strategy builder, and its interface is older than most newer options tools.

Strengths

  • Puts past earnings moves and implied moves side by side for each stock
  • Low price for the full membership
  • Backtester included in the membership rather than sold separately
  • Clear focus on one trading style

Limitations

  • Free access is limited to previews and two quarters of history
  • Only covers earnings-related research; no options chain, flow or strategy builder
  • Monthly billing runs through PayPal
  • The site's pages publish little detail about the backtester's data range or strategy list

Good fit for

  • Options traders who trade around earnings announcements
  • Traders comparing implied moves with historical reactions before selling or buying premium
  • Budget-conscious traders who want a focused earnings tool

Look elsewhere if

  • Traders who want general options analytics or flow (OptionStrat or a flow service fits better)
  • Anyone who wants a modern, mobile-first interface
