OptionNet Explorer
optionnetexplorer.com
Windows software for backtesting and monitoring multi-leg options strategies on 5-minute historical data for US equities and indices, priced in pounds.
What it is
OptionNET Explorer (ONE) is a Windows desktop program for designing, backtesting and then tracking complex options positions. You build a strategy on any optionable US stock or index, step through history in 5-minute snapshots, make adjustments along the way, and ONE keeps a running tally of every adjustment and commission so you see the full profit and loss of the position. The same window then monitors live trades.
Historical options data is kept on OptionNET's servers and is included in the subscription, so you do not buy or maintain your own database. Live or delayed quotes come free from your broker if you have an account with thinkorswim, Interactive Brokers or Tradier, and orders can be sent straight to Interactive Brokers or Tradier. Account data and backtest history are stored on the server, so the same work opens on different PCs, and a mentor can be given access to your trades.
Pricing is in British pounds and excludes VAT (charged only to EU residents). A 10-day trial costs a small fee and is limited to one per customer; after it you choose a 3-month or 12-month subscription. Orders are verified by hand and can take up to 24 hours, and the subscription is for non-commercial use only. There is no Mac version, though the company says it runs under Parallels on Mac.
